Volume 5 - Act of regulation of the John & Frances West's charities 1806.

(Edited and reprinted by D.Baker 2001)

By 1806 the estates and other properties, which had been left by John & Frances, had become in a very poor state of maintenance and could no longer support the charities as detailed by John & Frances in their original wills. Part of this decline was due to the short term leases required by the original wills. This term was extended to 61 years by this act of Parliament making them more profitable.
